Just a thought from a genuine apostate about freedom of faith in Islam?

So, I was reading “Freedom of Faith in Islam” by Professor Abdullah Nasih Ulwan and came across the chapter about how atheists and apostates are dealt with. So, being both an ex-Muslim and an atheist, this affects me deeply. According to this book, and to many other Muslim scholars, I’m to be given three days to repent, and if I refuse to repent, I’m to be killed.

How on earth do you regard that as being freedom of faith?
Don’t you think that people should be allowed believe in whatever they wish to believe, regardless of their history or background?

When you say freedom of faith exists in Islam, that means that everyone (and I mean everyone) has the freedom to believe in whatever they choose to believe in. No if’s or but’s.

McDonalds is offering free breakfast on day of FCAT testing. I know I don’t have to get it for my kids but when my kids came from school they started crying and throwing tantrum that they want to go to mcDonalds before they go to school. I don’t understand how is that possible? Shouldn’t they reach ontime to school? Should I wake them up before the time so that they can goto mcDonald’s? Then what about kids getting sufficient rest and besides that this article itself says it’s not healthy diet. Please answer if you are taking your kids to have this breakfast on day of exam. Sex offenders will have to take lie detector tests when they are released on probation from prison, the Ministry of Justice has announced.

Pam Hibbert, assistant director of policy at children’s charity Barnardos, said the tests would increase public confidence.

“It is important, however, that this is used as part of a package of measures including greater use of satellite tracking,” she said.

Why do we still believe in Gods like our ancestors although we are more advanced and know better?

Why do we just settle for this excuse? Since when did mankind become lazy and gave up looking for answers? We are doing so much better than our ancestors when it comes to medicine, cultivation, education….etc but yet we still believe in a God like they did. Why is that? Our ancestors believed in Water Gods and Sun Gods because they were uneducated, so why do people of the 21st century still believe in stuff like that?
Science doesn’t have all the answers but they have a lot of answers that we can work with such as genetic drift, cloning, splicing, evolution….etc. And if these scientific breakthroughs weren’t legit then we wouldn’t have medication or we wouldn’t be able to get an organ transplant. So clearly scientists and doctors know what they are doing. So once again why do we believe that God made a man first and then a woman using the man’s rib? Thats actually impossible but we believe it. Are we so gullible and lazy that we cant open up a book or go into a lab and prove the nonsense in holy books wrong?
I think its because of brainwashing, we are introduced to religion from a young age so its embedded in our brain. Thats the ONLY way a human being could ever believe the stuff in the bible or other holy books. You dont just wake up one day and believe snakes had the ability to speak in the past, that BS has to be embedded in your mind from birth. The fear of going to hell also makes you believe in ANYTHING, whoever invented religion was really smart and he/she was successful at brainwashing and controlling people.

Religion was created by man and was done so easily because people couldn’t read and write until about the 1300s. Only scholars could read/write (not even most royalty could.) And the scholars were, guess what.. PRIESTS AND MONKS.
Priests and monks wrote/translated the bible into about 5~10 different languages as they wrote it between the years of 100 and 1200. English wasn’t even a language at this time.. German, French, Italian, Greek, Roman.. etc.
The church became corrupt because it taught what it wanted to teach: that you would not go to heaven unless you paid money to the church.
This is where the BS started. The church owned everything. And people for whatever reason still follow it to this day.

I still believe there’s one God, and there’s heaven and hell. I believe in all the fundamentals, but it’s the little details like music being haram, and having to to wear a hijab (in my opinion, hijab is modesty, not a material object that covers hair)

I’m starting to question a lot of things, and every answer I get (from scholars, people online, family, friends, etc) just seems to be contradicting. and this is where I’m getting the feeling that their explanations are man made and not from God, that’s why it’s so flawed and complicated.

So now I feel like Islam isn’t Islam anymore. It’s hard to explain…like let’s say I would have believed in Islam the very first time Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) introduced it, but I don’t have faith in the 21st century version of Islam. Get what I mean?

I mean come on….there are 4 branches of Islam now. There isn’t supposed to be any branch.

So I’m doubting a lot…and on top of that, I don’t feel like Allah is here for me. I feel like he put a seal on my heart (Like he said in the Quran about the disbelievers)

I’m only asking questions and confronting everything because I want the truth and I want to be closer to Allah, but I feel like I’m at the bottom and that I’ve been deserted for even considering that today’s Islam is man made.

There’s a group of muslims on this site this Morning debating whether or not listening to music, ANY MUSIC , is ‘sinful’ or not. Some of the answerer’s have pointed to pro muslim you tube lectures by eminent muslim ‘scholars‘ seriously pontificating on the harm and offence done to Allah by listening to, and enjoying music.

Sharia law is enforced brutally Wherever Muslims have an iron grip on a country. They tone down their extremism when they live in the west because they have to, but given half the chance they would prevent us all from listening to music if they could.

Do most medical schools weigh more on upperdivision courses?

I currently have a GPA slightly below a 3.0, but still have over 100 units to go (I’m a bioengineering student with a minor). I had a rough start at university, but according to my academic counselor, I still have the ability to graduate university with a GPA of 3.5. I’ve been doing well in my upperdivision courses (aced organic chemistry courses) and hopefully will do well in my engineering upperdivs.

My first two years at uni I didn’t do so well because I was really spreading myself thin (helping start up a medical clinic in Africa, working as an undergrad research associate in a laboratory, heavy involvement in several community service organizations, etc). I’m a first generation university student in my family and learned the hard way the consequences of poor time management.

I was wondering if medical schools, as well as graduate schools in general, weighed upper division courses more than lower division courses.

i recently got my license and the insurance company called my parents (21-century), and told them that the have to pay a ridiculous amount of money because I live in their house and I have a license. Earlier today I was riding my bicycle in the city of carson which is located in Los Angeles county. The car was leaving a plaza while i was riding on the sidewalk. He did not look both ways and did not see me i tried to avoid him but by that time it was too late. He hit me on I bounced off of the hood onto the floor. If karma/God were real, then why do bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people?

As a child you don’t really have a developed conscience or mind, yet I know many, including myself who got abused, then others who get sexually assaulted or punished, and grow up believing that’s just the world they live in. I know of a total Ahole, who cares about nothing, but himself but he now has a job making 6 figures a year, and is more successful and gets more acclaim than his “good” counterparts.

Look at all the innocents slaughtered in wars throughout history. All the entrepreneur bankers, and war figures, and all sorts of people who shaped society according to “their” visions, not God’s, and all the laws, regulations, and authorities we have to bow down to in this world, who don’t have the slightest concept or care about God, yet they’re allowed to thrive and always did.

I don’t see God’s power or divine force meddling with these affairs do you? Nope just humans with strong wills taking over, and those with lesser wills falling into line.

I just see absolutely no proof of any karma, what goes around comes around, or justice in this world. I personally try to have faith, and pick my battles carefully, and stand up for it, but it seems like a losing battle here.

It’s easy to look up and ignore the world and be like “god god!” while you ignorantly look over all thats in front of you that was created by humans using human intellectual energy, not God.

Like the computer you type on, the healthcare you receive, your clothes, pretty much everything.

It’s funny. We work for some corporation, or some place where it’s not about God, but about the work you do, come back home to our homes built by builders, organizers, contractors, etc, that aren’t there to do God’s will either, but theirs and for their bosses, put money in a machine…(the atm)…and then choose a God to believe in of our own choice, and delude ourselves that we’re somehow “saved”…and that alls well and God is in control (when in reality everything you did that day was actually to favor humans and yourself, not really God)….and all these other delusions.

there are so many reasons why I find it really hard to believe in God, and if all else fails, it’s because this existence we’re in right now is just so godless in so many ways, and so unfair,….that its hard to imagine that ANY god would allow this to go on as it is.

Not to be morbid but, if there was a God,..an all loving/fair/spiritual/blissful great God, then this world just by being here and existing, many of these people…..would be a TOTAL abomination to God.

Right so I really like this girl. She‘s a very good friend as it is, but I like her more than that. We play in the same orchestra, so I see her at least once a fortnight, but we have met up a few times recently one to one for a walk in the countryside.

Last time (last Sunday) we met up I planned to ask her out, but annoyingly didn’t get round to it. In order to fix that I texted her saying how I was busy for ages accept for next sat (today), and as I like our walks, would she like to come again. A few more texts passed until I said like mid-convo (not randomly) ‘So have you never thought of anything more?’ (as in friendship to relationship). So there it is, and had she said that to my face, I know I would be 100% sure, but text is rather ambiguous, so I’m not sure. She has shown plenty of signs that she does like me, eg, sitting on a bench, her outer arm was in contact with mine for the whole time sitting, and she easily could have moved up. So I’m unsure, as I thought she did like me, but perhaps no chance?

How to build sexy thighs and bum.

To build the gluteus maximus you will need to stay in the mass building rep and set range. This would be the typical bodybuilding rep and set prescription of 10-12 reps for 3-4 sets each exercise. You can do a two day a week split with Glutes on monday and hamstrings on Friday with genral exercise like squat and lunges on either glute or hammy day. Squats will be a tremendous thoigh and bun toner and builder if you want to make your butt firm,round and sexy. I will now list some of the best exercises for building glutes, hamstring, (back of thigh) and the general thigh builder. First is Glutes . Sumo deadlifts are a very good frist choice for building glutes if you rreall focus on suing the glutes to initiate movement. Just do regular deadlift with a wide stance and use glutes to lift bar and squeeze glutes hard at top. Next is the One Legged dumbell deadlift. Grab tow dumbells, keep your weigth evenly distributed on your foot and back reasonably staright. COntract glutes hard and lift. Squeeze hard at top of lift. Next is the hip pull through, this exercise can be done on a cabe stack at a gym or with resistance bands from ironwoodyfitness.com or jumpstretch.com . I will explain for the cable stack, use same instructions for resistance band version.Facing away from cable machine, stick your arms between your legs and grab tricep extension rope attached to low cable pulley. Keeping your amrs staright take a step forward to load your muscles. Now squeeze your glutes and drive hips forward while locking out your knees. If your knees stay bent the drill will not work. This will give you a frim round butt if you use 10-12 rpes and build it up nicely. next are the one amr dumbell siwngs and snatches, these are pretty simple and can be looked up all over net. Just remeber to use hips and glutes not arms to do the moevment, start light!!! Okay so next is the front of the thighs. One of the greatest thigh builders and all aroun dlower body developer,including glutes is the traditional barbell squat. Here is how to perform this crucial exercise. well frist is always keep back straight, not staright up and down but imagine pushuing your butt bak to sit down on a chair while your feet are flat on the floor, this is how your back should be straight. Besdies this always keep your eyes on an imaiginary spot you choose that is right in front of you at head height when standing. Also keep core tight and use hamstrings to “pull”your self inot the parralell position as opposed t just yileding under the weigt. Suqats will help build and strengthne entire lower body, as well as make your legs and butt tone and sexy. next is weighted leunges and there si so much info on this exercise (as well as squats ) I think you can find it yourself. Now for the hamstrings which is the back of thigh and will do a lot towards lifting your bum to new heights. I will have to start with the romanian deadlift. Look up technique on bodybuilding.com. This and weigthed good mornings will build your hamstrings up ver nicely. Just be sure to warm up with some barbell only good mornings before attempting and keep very tight and be carefull! bruce Lee hurt his back doing these. After that you can try to work up to a bodyweight Glute-Ham-Raise. You can also find a pretty good bodyweigth glute routine on sparkpeople.com. She has good exercise info , but it won’t compare with the weigthed movements I described and she probably does at least one of these herself. if you wnat Vida Guerra or J-Lo butt than you wiol have to do the weigthed , movements. Also one legged squats can build the glutes to an extent if you make sure to push from heel. If you are trying to build up from a flat butt than eat a little more healthy foods to up calories and do the exercises like I sadi on a monday-friday split. Every foruth week reduce the weigth a little to sofetn up musvcles and don’t do an inytense wokout, than after the easy wekk add more wiegth again and you willsee some good gains. Evry fourth month you may want to focus on strength as in 3-5 reps for 3-5 sets. By now your technique should be near perfect and you can handle heavier loads. I hope this helps with any troublesyou may have in the posterior department, follow my advice and gain a frim round sexy toosh in a couple of months time no problem. IF you are not gaining than eat more. Diet is about 70%. eat al natualr with no man made junk klike white flour or white sugar , or corn syrup and make sure you are eating a balanced diet with whole grains, legumes, leafy gressn, cruciferous veggies, fresh or dry fruits, and lean meats and dairy.
