Chris asks…
Are investors counted as entrepreneurs?
I want to know if people who have money who invest into companies and hold, say, 10% of a company would be couted as an entrepreneur? Is investing couted as entrepreneurship?

admin answers:
No. Investing is just investing.
Actually creating and running the business is considered entrepreneurship. It’s an active role, rather than a passive one.

what sorta things do you like?? I see that your avatar has a hat….do u like hats?? Let me give you an example from a hat perspective…
Think of something that you always wanted from a hat, have u ever wished that you could create hats with some sort of design on it or some sort of broach that reflected your mood or personality?? Then do a questionnaire reflecting that, and ask ppl questions like whether they like wearing hats?, on what occassions they wear hats?, would they wear a hat that reflecte d their mood? and based on their answers, think of the different designs you could you create to draw various hat designs to suit all sorts of people…..
Then once you have your designs, start creating posters for the ‘Newest Way to Wear Your Hat!’ (sounds corny I know, but this is an example…stick with me here..) So then you can start creating prices based on they different style hats, and the different style of designs..and how you would market the hats. Would you sell a few from a stall set up in the mall?..stuff like that.
I’m sorry I haven’t really given you an IDEA for your project, but I’ve given you a clue on the sorta lines to think on to get to an idea that YOU LIKE!! That will make everything else so much easier, and you won’t be stuck on what to do next. Think of something you RREALLLY REALLY like that they would sell in stores or online or something and you haven’t seen it yet! Think of something you would love to have that no one has invented yet! YOU BE THE INVENTOR!!!!
All the best with it!!

Richard asks…
Canadian entrepreneurs, have any of you used the CYBF program?
If so, what did you think of it?
http://cybf.ca/ That’s the link for it.
I’m thinking about writing up a business plan and seeking funding through them, I just want to know more from the entrepreneur’s perspective.

I worked in a similar program when I got my first business started many years ago., It was called something else back then but the premise was the same. I thought it was wonderful. The mentoring was very helpful, the loans were great with ‘better than my bank’ rates (my bank wouldn’t give me a loan), and I had a lot of support through the enterprise office. I say go for it!
Where in Canada are you? If you need other assistance getting started, please let me know. I specialize in working with start-up businesses and I would love to help you. Check out our website and email us. Good Luck!
